Club Mission

To encourage students to study and form a study habit by offering regularly recurring study sessions. Our goal is to provide a space where students can quietly study together, thereby encouraging studying. Remember, it takes time to understand your course material! Give yourself the best chance to succeed – make a habit of studying by attending our study sessions 😄.

Our Core Initiatives

Activities & Events

Each semester, we offer events for both new and experienced people in the field of finance; take these opportunities to enjoy and learning about finance in events both large and small.

No, the DSU Study Buddy Club is not for tutoring. If you need help or tutoring, please go to the Douglas College Learning Centre, which provides free tutoring. Book an appointment here: https://douglas.mywconline.com/ (you may have to register first using the same login and password as your Blackboard) or find out more information about the Learning Centre here: https://library.douglascollege.ca/learningcentre.
No, the DSU Study Buddy Club does not provide such items. If you need textbooks, laptops, or other such items, the library loans them out for free to Douglas College students! If you need paper, pens, pencils, notebooks, and more, the Douglas College Bookstore sells such things! Study sessions are quiet stretches of time, such as a few hours, when you should be focused on reading your textbook, taking notes, quizzing yourself quietly on course material, or doing your homework.
Social Gatherings are the monthly social events that the Study Buddy Club hosts as a reward for you studying all month! It includes snacks & beverages, awards for participating in study sessions, a forum for member feedback about the club, as well as fun games and the chance to socialize!
Our Study Sessions are quiet study sessions using the pomodoro technique! For every hour of study session, there will be 45 minutes of quiet study and 15 minutes of break. Social Gatherings occur monthly and are solely for socializing, as a reward for studying during the month! There will be lots of fun activities, some snacks provided by the club, and possibly rewards & awards!
Every day, Monday to Friday, mostly from 9:00AM-12:30PM in DSU 305/306 at DC NW, or Thursdays, 10AM-12PM at DC COQ in C2040.
